It’s amazing where car hire firms have come in the world of sports highlights over the past thirty years. When my grandfather was young the main way for him to find out about a ballgame or his favorite team was two ways. He could actually go to the game, if he lived in a city with a professional sports team and could actually afford it, or he could listen to games on the radio. He had two choices and that’s it. Now there is an abundance of up to the minute’s sports highlights. Just search the internet and you can find pre-game stats, live stats, half time stats, and post game starts with interviews. It’s amazing. Car hire drivers can watch ESPN Sports Center several times a day and get the latest scores and news on all your favorite teams in all your favorite sports. ESPN there are regional sports highlights via the Fox Sports Networks that give you current information on all sports from high school to pro sports that are in that area from the Northwest if you live in Seattle to the Southeast if you reside in Orlando. If you have satellite radio in your car, be it SIRIUS or XM, or then there are numerous radio stations that broadcast nothing but news related to various sports niches. And last but not least there is the daily newspaper that can be found in any city across the country. Every newspaper is different but self drive tour personnel can usually get a glimmer of the highlights from the major sports teams that played the previous day.
There is a wealth of information out there related to sports. Fans are closer to their favorite teams like never before. The star quarterback gets into a fight at a bar or gets into a fender bender it shows up on the daily sports show the next hour and people are debating whether he should take anger classes or defensive driving courses. At the end of the day all these choices in sports is a good thing depending on which way car rental firms think about it. The sports highlights websites and shows make a lot of money off advertising. The athletes probably don’t like being in the spotlight all the time but they like getting those fat paychecks which are in part generated by all the hype created by all these sports channels. You find out there’s a new sport that you’ve never heard of or you hear of a new rule in sport you’ve watched all your life. Still there are some new things I just pick up from sports I watch all the time and some from sports that I’ve never watched.
When watching sports highlights for 2019 on TV and reading articles in the papers I’ve noticed athletes and car hire drivers in the sports world use the term ‘obviously’ a lot. “Obviously we have to play better”, “Obviously he can help out our team”, and “Obviously this is a huge game for us.” While watching a normal Hockey game I’ve noticed that during the broadcast, they will never cut to a commercial until the period is past the fourteen minute mark. The television station wants the viewer to get deep into the game and then once it gets long enough without a break, they’ll show a commercial after the fourteen minute mark.
